These are examples from a project I've embarked on as music director of several amateur church choirs. My goal has been to create modular pieces of music, mainly rounds, that can be adapted to the varying and uncertain circumstances of weekend Masses. The texts are primarily drawn from the Mass Propers for each week, including the Entrance, Offertory and Communion Antiphons. These texts have been forgotten by many Catholic church musicians over the past half century, but there has recently been an effort at rediscovering them, both in their original Gregorian chant form, and also for use in new, English language compositions.
